When you apply to a studio or a photographer, you hand over personal details. EqualFrame is where those details are kept, and it was built so they are kept properly.
Why this exists
For most of this industry’s history, the information models submit when they apply has gone wherever was convenient. A shared inbox. A spreadsheet on a laptop. A folder passed between people. Nobody meant any harm by it. There just wasn’t a better option.
There is now. EqualFrame holds that information in one secure place, on one principle: your data belongs to you, and so does the say over who sees it.
Who can see your information
Access follows your working relationships, nothing more. When you apply to a studio or photographer through EqualFrame, your details are visible to them. Not to other studios, not to other photographers, not to anyone browsing. Nobody can search for you or stumble across your record.
If you want to share your information with someone else, you make that choice. We never make it for you.
Where your data lives
Your records are held on infrastructure in the EU and the UK. They are encrypted in transit and at rest. They are not sold, not handed to advertisers, and not shared with third parties for their own purposes.
The most sensitive material, the documents collected to verify identity and age, is held separately and under tighter limits. It is used for that purpose alone, and it is never shown to studios or other members. Every time personal data is accessed, that access is logged.
Your rights, and your control
You can ask to see what we hold, correct anything that is wrong, and have your data erased. These are not buried settings. We build to the GDPR standard and treat it as the floor, not the ceiling.
When you give consent, we record it. When you withdraw it, we record that too.
Verification and safety
Identity and age verification are handled by a specialist verification provider, so the people on EqualFrame are who they say they are. Images uploaded to the platform are automatically screened for illegal content. We mention these plainly because they matter, not to perform reassurance.
In plain terms
We won’t claim perfect security, because no one honestly can. What we can say is that EqualFrame was built by people who thought hard about what it means to hold someone else’s personal information, and who keep thinking about it.
